Being a Blonde

Quite often I get questions about my hair, the cut, the colour and the length. I've done a couple of videos on You Tube trying my best to answer these questions for anyone who's interested, but the same questions still keep popping up, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to answer those questions now, and tell my story on how I became a blonde.

Length:

I get a lot of questions about the length of my hair, a huge amount of the questions are asking how I grow my hair so long or do I wear hair extensions. I feel weirdly as though I'm bragging by replying 'no it's real' but the truth is I don't have any miracle secrets to how I have long hair, apart from the fact that when I was younger my Mum always put me off having it cut saying I would regret it! At the time I wanted a trendy bob like my friends, but now I actually thank her for it!

Cut:

I used to have the obsession with wanting a side sweeping fringe, I thought they looked so good on other girls and celebs so I would always have it cut in at the salon, but for some reason they just don't suit me though, maybe it's to do with my face shape? so now I'm letting the side fringe grow out and tend to part my hair at the side. Layers wise, I have a few shorter layers put in to help achieve a bit more volume, I used to have really short layers cut in, but again i've been gradually growing them out for a while now.

Colour:

My natural hair is a light mousey brown colour. I think it's quite a common hair colour and also a bit of a boring one that many girls like to change as they get older. I started getting highlights at a salon at the age of about 14, that's quite young though, as the recommended age to start colouring your hair is about 16. Never the less you start to get to an age where you want to experiment with your hair and makeup, and that's exactly what I did. I only had a few blonde highlights put through to start with, but over the years it's gone gradually lighter and lighter.

I've been few different shades of blonde over the past 8 years, a few times going platinum blonde, but I feel that colour washes me out as I have fair skin and it can end up looking brassy over time. I've even gone for chocolate brown and blonde streaks in the past! (never again!) The colour I have now is one I'm happy with and have stuck to for about the last 18 months, it's a warm enough colour to compliment my skin tone, but as I usually have 3 different blonde shades put through my hair, it's quite multi-tonal too. Now I know the subtle changes from light blonde to darker blonde don't exactly make me adventurous when it comes to changing my hair colour. But I love being blonde and can't see me wanting to go any other colour in the near future!

Spring Fashion | Missguided

A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be asked to make a spring fashion video for Missguided, which I was SO excited about as they are one of my favourite online fashion stores. I picked out some gorgeous pieces and put together a little look book over on my youtube channel. I'll add the video in below if you'd like to take a peek!

I instantly fell in love with the Aldara dress, as the colour is amazing! and I knew I would like the fit as I have about 3 of their lace dresses with 3/4 length sleeves and love them so I thought a sleeveless version would be fab for spring.

I couldn't wait to try on the Blair blouse, it's more of a transitional piece from winter into spring, but it's so versatile it could be worn all year round, and as anyone that watches my channel will know, I have a thing for shorts, denim ones in particular, and the Romie denim ones are the perfect colour and fit!

I also picked out their stunning Hailey mocha wedges which aren't pictured here, but they are featured in the video!

It was such a shame I had to wear tights in the video as it was freezing outside! (errm, should have filmed inside then?) but I seriously can't wait to rock these outfits in the summer bare legged with a tan!

Cover Girl

I have been a huge fan of fashion magazines since I was 12 or 13. I love to keep all my glossy mags to pore over the beautiful images, and still have some Vogue & ELLE magazines from back in 2002 which I just can't bear to get rid of!

Each month I love to look at the beautiful editorial images in Vogue, I didn't even know this months was out until I saw it on Laura's blog today and rushed straight out and got it because, even though I've never been much of fan girl, I am kind of a bit in love with Lana Del Rey, I think she's absolutely beautiful and the inside shots are simply stunning!

I also am loving the new look Company magazine, the first issue last month really caught my eye, theres just something about the paper they've used and the fonts and colours that makes it really appealing and different, (I know that's a little bit sad but oh well!). And of course Alexa on last months cover and Zooey on this months helps to attract the fashionista target market perfectly!

Well i'm off to have a cup of tea and a read of these beauties!

Apologies for the rushed pictures! I took them quickly on my way out last night. I'm currently sitting here whilst the snow falls outside! so it looks like a cosy weekend in for me.

I got this jumper and blouse on Thursday from the H & M concession in Selfridges, I especially love the beaded collar! The've got some gorgeous things at the moment. I love having a wonder around Selfridges, so after the Missguided Press day (which I'll be posting about soon), I popped down to Oxford St to have a bit of a shop! I very nearly got the Mulberry Taylor Satchel, but I had to stop myself, as I really can't justify spending that amount of money on a bag! instead my lovely Mummy found this bag in the back of her wardrobe and gave it to me, which will tide me over until I save for the Taylor!

I'm off to have a hot chocolate now, as i'm freezing! is it snowing where you are?

Beauty Boxes: January

So I will admit I have been some what of a slacker when it comes to posting or making videos about beauty boxes, but everyone seems to get theirs up before me! (slow coach) and then I feel like my opinion isn't really needed, but I told my self that this year I would make the effort to post about beauty boxes each month, because, truth be told I love them! Last year was defiantly the year of the beauty box! with so many coming out. This months post includes Glossy box and Carmine, I am also subscribed to Jolie Box (formerly Boudoir Prive) but they didn't send out a box in January which I still not 100% clear on why?

Just so you know though, these monthly posts aren't going to be a comparison of the boxes I talk about, as I think they are all really different, have their own unique selling points and target markets. So it will just be my general thoughts on each one!

Glossy Box:

I absolutely LOVE this months Valentines day themed packaging, The hot pink box is very me, and even though I love the usually pale pink box that arrives on my door step every month, I couldn't help wishing it was always this colour! The little glossy box rock candy sweet

was the perfect extra touch too!

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this months box, as I usually am, I loved the variety of the products (I'm not one of these 'wheres my full sized Nars product?' kind of girls!) which I think is ridiculous, however that's a whole other post!

I don't often use a face primer, but the Murad Skin Perfecting Primer, feels so silky on the skin, so I'm definitely planning on giving this a go before I apply my makeup to see if it makes a difference.

I also liked the Davines Moisturising Balm, it's made with organic carthame oil and can be used on the face, body and hair. Even though it has a fairly subtle, clean scent, I would probably stick to using it on my body. It's a bit of a strange one though as it needs to be rinsed off, so it's more like a creamy cleanser than a balm that you would leave on. I received a 75 ml tube of it so it should last a while!

The second Davines product in the box was the Davines Cleansing Nectar, this is for your hair and body, however this one seems more of a shampoo to me. It's again made with carthame oil and has a fresh scent to it that I can't quite explain!

I was really excited to see an Eyko product in this months box, as I really like the brand, but haven't used it much since they re-launched the brand with their new products and packaging, so it's good to be able to try something out. I got the skinny eyeliner in the colour powder pink, which I was slightly disappointed with, as I would have much preferred a more usable colour like black or brown, however I like to try and remind myself that beauty boxes are all about trying something new! so I'll probably be using this colour on my inner corners, and playing around with it to see what else I can use it for, I also really like the sleek packaging, it looks really profess!

Next I tried the Fab Gentle Body Wash, it's a gentle cream body wash for dry and sensitive skin, it has virtually no scent, so it's perfect for someone who can't use highly scented body products. It's a little boring for me as I do like scented body washes etc, but it's very moisturising and soothing on the skin.

All in all I was happy with this months box, perfect for prepping yourself for a Valentine's date!

Carmine:

I have received a few Carmine boxes, all of which I have been really pleased with. I really like the outer packaging as it's simple and sleek, but I'm not biggest fan on the red and green packaging inside, this is just personal taste however and detracts noting away from the products they include each month, and hey, not everyone loves pink I guess! This months box included items to help you look and feel your best for the start of the new year!

I'm a huge fan of the Korres Wild Rose 24 hour moisturising and brightening cream, I have always loved the rose fragrance, and this facial moisturiser doesn't disappoint. The scent is very subtle with a slight scent of rose, nothing over powering or grannyish about it! I like the fact that the scent is natural so it doesn't feel like you're putting a perfumed cream on your face, and it's great for soothing your face in this harsh winter weather.

I was very pleased to see a pair of lashes in the months box, I'm always up for trying a new pair of falsies. The Eldora lashes are the right mix of natural and glam as they are shorter around the edges to give a more natural look. I haven't tried them yet as i'm still loving my eyelash extensions, but they would be perfect for a night out!

I'm not to sure about the Balance Me Radiance Face Oil, it looks like it could be a pretty good product and I'll be applying it before my moisturiser to see if it makes a difference to my skin, But I think with any product like this you need time to see if it works for you.

I'm not a big bath salt fan, I find a them strange, but saying that, I haven't tried them for a number of years so these may change my mind! The Westlab Himalayan Pink Bath Salts are used to detoxify and maintain soft, heathly skin. They are unscented so until I give them a go I'm not to sure what to make of them, but if your a bath salt fan, these might be nice to try!

Finally I received an Eyeko Fat Eye Stick, as I previously said, I do love Eyeko, so I'm please I got the chance to try two new eyeko products this month! this one definitely looks like my kind of thing! I got it in the colour Black and I think it's a really multi purpose eye product. It's really easy to apply and blend. I'll be using this as an eye liner and as a cream eye shadow, if I'm going for a smokey eye look.

My Eyelash Extension Experience

Last week I had the privilege of having some beautiful eyelash extensions applied by fabulous extensions expert Kelly Hanys. I was so excited as I had heard such good things about the lady herself, having worked on numorous celebrity client's hair and eyelash extensions, including the girls from The Only Way Is Essex no less! I've never had eyelash extensions before, but have always wanted to give them a go, and I'm pleased to say I haven't been disappointed.

The application took roughly 2.5 hours, with each individual lash being painstakingly applied to one of your natural lashes (that takes some patience!) kelly first asked me how I wanted my lashes to look, so I decided to go for naturally glamorous! as I didn't want them to look 'fake' but I have to admit I wanted a noticeable difference! You can really go as natural or as dramatic as you would like though. I was worried at first how I was going to lie still for that length of time, especially with my eyes closed, But Kelly creates a rather calming atmosphere and It felt like they were finished in no time! I think I might have even fallen asleep at one point!

When the lashes were finished I was absolutely thrilled to bits with them, I walked in feeling quite self conscious, as I never go anywhere without mascara or a bit of eyeliner, but I walked out feeling confident enough to go out without the need for any extra eye makeup.

The photo above was taken just after the lash extensions were applied, They're so thick and add amazing volume and colour to my naturally fair eyelashes, no need for layers of mascara!

After 1 week

It's been over a week since I had the lashes applied, and they're still going strong! The lashes I have are mink lashes, which are the softest, natural looking lashes you can get, costing £100 a set. The great thing about them is that they are cruelty free, as the fur is collected by brushing the animal, which is then sterilised and is hypo-allergenic. They last from 3-4 weeks, but they are surprisingly hard wearing, I was scared to touch them at first but as I have gotten used to them I have become more confident with applying makeup around them and removing it gently with a facial wipe. (The lashes shouldn't be allowed to get wet otherwise they will begin to lose they're curl). Another thing I was worried about was feeling as though I had a big, heavy set of falsies on constantly, as when I have applied a set of fake lashes in the past, my eyes lids have felt rather weighed down all evening! (not a pleasant feeling!) These on the other hand are totally opposite, I forget I have them on until I walk past a mirror and do a double take to admire them!

Overall the whole process was a very enjoyable experience and I would have no hesitation in getting them done again! I think i'll be so sad to see them go that I'll be running back to Kelly for a top up! She is a total perfectionist and wouldn't let me leave until they were just right! which I think shows just how much pride she takes in her work.

Seeing Stars

I didn't really realise until just now that I didn't put any accessories with this outfit! as my brother would say, 'Silly goose!'

This dress is a beautiful navy blue colour (I seem to wearing this colour a lot recently!) with tiny white stars all over it, you may have seen it in my 'What's in my Wardrobe/Closet Tour' video, which I will add in below, and as some one pointed out to me it's £19.99 instead of £29.99 which is what I thought it was, bargain! I really love it, it's the perfect length and I think it's one of those dresses which looks great in the winter with tights and a fur stole/jacket and without tights in the summer with some white accessories.

My hair is looking rather 'rooty' here! I prefer to call it natural ombre!! haha! I have since had it coloured (thank god) so it's back to blonde again, so i'll be showcasing my blonder (and slightly shorter eekk!!) hair in a video or blog post soon!

Just thought i'd do a quick outfit post of this pretty playsuit I recently got from Primark, it came with the cute, red patent belt which adds a little pop of colour! The reason I love it so much is because of the peter pan collar of course! (little obsessed!)

I've been testing out the new camera and am still getting used to it, so hopefully I shall be back with lots more outfit posts soon!

Sorry for my lack of outfit posts recently, it's been getting so dark so early that I haven't had much of a chance to take photos! so I thought I would start doing these 'The look' posts of outfits that i've been wearing/am loving right now! also I'm hopefully doing a winter look book soon so watch out for that!

I love this mixture of pretty lace and leather, with the studded Vectra's (which I just got today! LOVE!) and the large silver cross earrings. It's a real rock chick look but the lace adds that hint of 'girliness'. I can't wait for this bag from Romwe to arrive either! It's so beautiful!

Liz Earle: Winter Revival Collection

Well Santa, I've been a bit naughty, you see I asked for some Liz Earle products for Christmas this year, but I seem to already have them already?? how did that happen???

Haha, ok, so my lovely Mama ordered me this fantastic collection of Liz Earle products from QVC a few weeks ago and I begged her to let me have them early so I could try them out and review them for you guys! luckily she said yes so I may even do a video too as I really do love them!

Liz Earle have put together a winter revival collection to use as a 8 step everyday routine to help "shield your skin and hair against the harsh winter elements" which I thought was a great idea. You get a booklet with information about each product which of course also explains which natural ingredients have been put into each one.

The thing I liked most about the set was that there was a wide variety of products included, from shampoo and conditioner, to body products, as well as my much loved cleanse and polish and skin repair moisturiser.

• Cleanse & Polish hot cloth cleanser • Instant Boost Tonic • Skin Repair Moisturiser

These are my 3 favourite products in the collection, I have loved Cleanse & Polish (which also came with 2 muslin cloths) for a long time, and have had a travel sized skin repair moisturiser, but never really used the 3 together as a daily skin care routine, this is what I have now started doing and I LOVE it. The natural ingredients are a real plus point. and every product smells clean and fresh, not chemically as some skin care products do. This collection came with moisturiser for dry/sensitive skin (being the winter revival kit and all!) which is great for my skin at this time of the year, but is also available in normal/combination skin and combination/oily skin at Liz Earle counters. Both other products are for all skin types.

Once I have been using these products for a while longer I'll do a separate, more in depth review!

• Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion • Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask

The eyebright soothing eye lotion is great for waking up tired or puffy eyes, you simply apply it with a cotton wool pad and wipe it over the eyes, it's really soothing and refreshing!

I absolutely love the intensive nourishing treatment mask, it helps to hydrate the skin so probably not the best product for anyone prone to oily skin, but if, like me in the winter months your skin tends to dry out more, simply apply this all over the face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. After just wipe off with a muslin cloth and warm water.

• Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash • Nourishing Botanical Body Cream •

If they weren't included in this collection, then body products would probably be something I would never of tried from Liz Earle. In this set were 2 travel sized products which again I enjoyed using. When it comes to body wash's and body cream's scent is everything to me, that's probably why I love companies like LUSH so much as the scents are pretty overpowering and I like them to last on the skin, If I smell something fruity or sweet I can't help but buy it! So these products would defiantly suit someone who favours a natural, fresh scent to their body wash's and cream's.

They both smell absolutely beautiful though, especially the Orange Flower body wash which lavers really nicely. I also enjoyed using the body cream as well as it was surprisingly light and sank into my skin really quickly.

• Botanical Shine Shampoo • Botanical Shine Conditioner •

When I first opened this I have to say I was slightly miffed at the 50 ml conditioner compared the to full sized 200ml shampoo, with my length hair i'll probably get through the conditioner in a few uses, and just think it'll be a bit hard to truly say if I like using the products together as the conditoner will no doubt run out before the shampoo. Again as you'll expect the secent is very natural and organic, with a slight fruitly scent as they both include apple and orange extracts.

I think I need a little longer to see if I would choose these over other shampoo & conditioner combos that I love, But the shampoo left my hair feeling really clean and fresh, and even from one use I feel as though the conditioner made my hair shiny and managable. (I have the normal hair conditioner but this is also available in, dry/damaged and fine/oily hair.)

All in all I really like the Liz Earle Winter Revival Collection, Some of the products are full sized, whilst others are the travel sized versions, which is a nice way try each product out before commiting to a full sized version, and at £46.20 for the set I think your getting a pretty good deal! (not meaning to sound to QVC presenter-ish there!) As I said, I will continue to test these products and if any ones interested, I'll review a few of my faves in more detail in the future!

LOOK Beauty Event

Since I first saw this new makeup Brand in Westfield Stratford's Superdrug back In October I have been just a liiiittttle bit obsessed with it! I got rather carried away and bought quite a few things which you can see

HERE in my LOOK Beauty Haul video. So you can imagine my excitement when I was invited to the LOOK Beauty Bloggers event a few evenings ago! We all gathered in a stunning venue to have a peak at the new range which is currently being rolled out in Superdrug stores around the country.

It was lovely to see the entire collection displayed so beautifully and was great to have a play about and swatch some of the colours. I apologise about the quality of my photos, but I only had my iphone with me!

They have truly done a wonderful job with their stunning range of 32 eye shadows, There's sure to be a colour for everyone here, and at only £4 per eyeshadow I can see myself building up quite a collection! My favourites of course being the neutrals, browns, beiges and golds, but theres a few more exciting and vibrant colours in there that I'd love to try as well!

I'm such a nail polish geek, so I was over the moon when I saw their stunning array of Nail Pop colours in store, and they looked fabulous laid out in their own little colour groups at the event so I just had to take pictures of them all! (How sad am I??!!).

They've managed to get just the right mixture or glitter, shimmer and matte finishes and a good balance of bold, brights and on trend neutrals. I've owned a couple of these polishes for a few months now and I love the way they apply, the colour lasts for ages, and they cost just £5 each.

Again not a very good photo (sorry!) but I had to show your their beautiful lip products, Their Loud Lips Lipsticks - £7 and Lip Slick Glosses - £5 are a range of vibrant, on trend colours, so not for the faint hearted, although theres a few softer shades thrown in too! My personal faves are the Double Hit Lipstick and Gloss duo's - £7. The lipstick and gloss compliment each other beautifully, making it the perfect lip product for your handbag.

This was my first Look at their Pro Palettes as they weren't available in store back in October, they come with a mixture of interchangeable products and cost £15. This could definitely be something to add to my christmas list!

It was such a lovely evening and I had the pleasure of catching up with some of my favourite bloggers, and also met a few for the first time! I wished I had a bit more time to chat to some of you properly though!

When I got home I had a chance to have a look at the goodie bag that LOOK Beauty kindly handpicked for each of us individually which I thought was such a lovely touch. I can't tell you how happy I was with my goodies!

I have to admit, when I first saw the lipstick I was slightly scared, as on first glance the colour is a very deep brownish red, something that I don't think I could pull off! but I was so happy when I tried it out, it totally lives up to it's name and applies a beautiful Cherry red colour, perfect for a glamorous evening look and something I might not have been brave enough to buy myself, so I'm glad I got this colour!

There were so many more fabulous products I didn't get photos of including their foundation range, BB creams and primers, not to mention their range of blushers and bronzers, but this post has already been epic!!

All in all it was a fab event, and I really enjoyed the talk from Looks Beauty Editor Sophie Beresiner, which gave us a bit more of an insight into the range.

Probably one of the best things about the brand is that a percentage of every sale will go to the
Look Good...Feel Better charity, which offers women with cancer the chance to attend free makeup workshops in hospitals across the UK to help rebuild their self confidence and self esteem during their treatment. It's such a wonderful and worthy cause, so It's nice to know that every time you pop in to Superdrug and pick something up from the range, your giving something back too.

I'd also like to take a second to thank the lovely Zoe of The London Lip Gloss for organising and putting together this lovely event for us all to enjoy! I can't wait for the range to hit my local Superdrug, as theres now so many more things I can't wait to get my hands on!

Tutorial: Newspaper Nails

Helllooo, so I was looking online for some cool nail art designs when I stumbled upon this newspaper nails design and I thought it was genius! I'm sure many of you have seen them before, and there's a lot of other blogs you can look at for inspiration, but for those of you (like me) who haven't seen these before and for those asking on twitter, I thought I'd show you my attempt and do a quick post on how to create them yourself!

You will need:

A nail polish of your choice, (a pale colour works best) I've used American Apparel Nail Lacquer in - Office
10 strips of newspaper
Rubbing alcohol or a spirit such as vodka
A small glass
Clear nail varnish/top coat

1. Paint your nails in your desired colour and leave to dry

2. Once nails are dry pour the rubbing alcohol into a small glass, Dip a nail into the liquid making sure to cover the entire nail, once the nail is wet, take a piece of newspaper and apply it onto the nail and hold down for 20-30 seconds making sure to keep the paper still so as not to smudge the print.

3. Gently peel away the paper and you should end up with a backwards image of the print.

4. Repeat on each nail. Once complete, paint over your design with clear nail polish to seal your nail art.

And that's it! It's pretty simple and looks really striking! And If you want to see what words you got, simply hold your nails up to a mirror and have a read of your newspaper nails! You can even experiment with small symbols or pictures!

Sorry this has taken me sooooo long to get back to doing! it's been a busy month and I have just now got the chance to sit down for an hour and answer them. I had a lot of questions from you guys here, and through twitter and emails too, and many questions were very similar, so I picked out the more popular ones and tried to answer as best I could. I picked out 15 questions, so here they are……

Q1 - How did you start Dolly Bow Bow?

A1 - So probably the most common question I get asked on a regular basis is how I started Dolly Bow Bow? After leaving 6th form and college where I studied performing arts, I had a bit of time on my hands, I didn't really know what I wanted to do, I'd always dreamt of being in musicals but I kind of lost my passion for it after school finished, probably cause I realised how bloody hard it is to ever get in to! Not that you should give up your dreams or passions of course, I suppose I just found a new one.

I could literally talk about this all day, and maybe at some point I should do a post dedicated to it, but to sum it up for you now. The first Dolly Bow Bow website launched in March 2010 when I was 19, it took me about 6 months to get everything up and running, from teaching myself how to make jewellery, designing the jewellery I wanted to sell, buying equipment and learning how to build a website. but i'd had the idea for about a year before it was even started.

I also get a lot of emails asking me for suppliers names, where do I get this from? and where do I get that from? etc. I probably sound like a real bitch but I don't feel it's right to ask any company that question (they won't tell you), it takes a lot of time, effort and research, finding out where to buy things, how to make things and how to sell things. But in a way, that's the best part. It's not rocket science but some serious hours and brain cells get used up! So as much as I won't give up my sources for obvious reasons, I think that if creating your own business is something you are really set on doing, then discovering how to do it all by yourself is exciting.

Q2 - What is your job?

A2 - I own dolly bow bow, the business is my full time job, It's been up and running for about 18 months now. Theres a lot that needs to be done each and every day so it keeps me pretty busy. However i've taught performing arts for kids at my local theatre for nearly 5 years now (if you can't do it, teach it huh?), I do this every saturday and I love it so much! the kids I teach are amazing so I wouldn't dream of giving it up!

Q3- What inspired you to start a blog/youtube channel and what are your tips?

A3 - I watched youtube videos on makeup and fashion like so many people do for probably about a year before I started my own, I've always been obsessed with fashion and beauty so I thought maybe I could have a go, it really is as simple as get a camera and film yourself, it doesn't have to be anything fancy, just as long as your making a video about something you enjoy. The blog came later, and i'll be the first to admit i'm not the best at keeping it up to date, but this years has been soooo hectic!! haha, so I'm hoping to really put more effort into it very soon as I love making outfit posts.

My tips would be....

Don't do it if you only want hits and subscribers, they come later, the better your videos are, the better your viewership will be, but that's not the thing to focus on, just make videos about things you enjoy talking about, this will show in what you say and your body language etc, and in turn you'll make good videos.
Know what your going to talk about, if someone talks really slowly, or is unsure what they are talking about, it puts me off watching a bit

Comment on others videos, if you like something they've done or shown then let them know, they'll be more inclined to check out your videos if they see you've taken an interest in what they've said rather than a comment just saying "please subscribe to me!"

Just be yourself, and make videos you would want to watch yourself!

Q4 - When is the new dolly bow bow collection coming out?

A4 - VERY SOON! the website is in the process of having a revamp which is really exciting, I hope you'll all love it's new look. They'll be lots of new stuff for autumn/winter as well!. If all goes well it should be up at the end of this week, beginning of next week!

Q5 - What are your favourite songs right now?

A5 - I've got quite a few albums I listen to on repeat at the moment! I LOVE Ed Sheeran's album it's so amazing, beyonce's album, anything by Lady Gaga, although I think "You and I" is up there with my favourite songs of all time! Adele, 21, the most heart wrenching album ever but it's so beautiful. I'm not one of these people that knows all these obscure bands and is really "cool" when it comes to music, I've always just loved the kind of music that's in the charts and i'm proud of it! haha

Q6 - Favourite Perfume?

A6 - I wear Naughty Alice a lot, I got it for Christmas and love it, also D&G 3 L'Impératrice is one of my favourites, it's much lighter and really fresh. The two on my wish list right now are Elie Saab and Chanel en tendre, there both beautiful so I may have to treat myself to one!

Q7 - Favorite book?

A7 - and the moment i'm reading pretty little liars, i'm on the 5th one and i'm a bit obsessed, i'm probably really behind the times with reading it but since I got my kindle i've just been reading the whole series. I'm such a girlie girl when it comes to books, I've read all the Katie Price ones (which are surprisingly good!), and Lauren Conrad's LA candy Series. So yeah nothing too taxing! haha, but I did read the hunger games trilogy, and being a girl that never read HarryPotter or Lord of the Rings, I have to say I loved it! and can't wait for the films now!

Q8 - if you could leave the house with three makeup items on what would they be?

A8 - Hmmm good question, it would have to be, some kind of foundation or tinted moisturiser, my skins still a bit red and marked from acne scars when I was younger, so would hate to go out bare faced! I think second would be mascara, my eyelashes are pretty much blonde so when I don't have it on, my eyes look weird!! haha and the last one, i'm going to cheat cause I can't decide! either lipstick to add a pop of colour, or blusher, so I don't look washed out without lipstick!

Q9 - What are your pet peeves?

A9 - umm, I think if someones feet smell? haha, that annoys me, or if someone picks their nose! erghh. I'm trying to think of moreeee. Ohh when people correct you over the tinniest thing! that really annoys me, it's like, "was that really necessary? was it impacting on your life so much you felt you needed to correct me?" lol

Q10 - Whats your favourite high street store?

A10 - lol well as you know i'm a big primark fan!! lol I like topshop but I do find it a bit over priced, sometimes though theres something in Topshop that's like "I must have this!". Apart from those, I LOOOVVVEE H&M it's reasonably priced and I think they have some amazing pieces, especially at the moment! I also love Zara, New Look and Urban Outfitters!

Q11 - Who is your style Icon?

A11 - That's a hard one, because theres not really one person I look to for inspiration, I tend to find inspiration from other blogs and people. I love street fashion and seeing what people put together on a day to day basis, and lookbook.nu is amazing for fashion inspiration. I also love looking through the fashion magazines, different celebs inspire me, but it depends on what there wearing not who they are if that makes sense? so it could be someone different every week!

Q12 - When did you first become interested in fashion?

A12 - I was probably about, 14? i'm not sure when my obsessions for wanting toys and things stopped and when my love of fashion started! I remember one christmas, I was about 14 and I got a pink Burberry quilted coat and pink timberland boots!! I loved them sooooo much and was so proud to wear them! so probably from then!

Q13 - Where are you from?

A13 - I get asked this all the time! people guess either London, or more commonly Essex. lol it's neither! and I don't really think I want to say, but it's pretty close, lets just say i'm in the middle!

Q14 - How did you come up without the name Dolly Bow Bow?

A14 - It just came to me one day! I was trying to think of a name for the website that was a bit girlie but unique and different, I came up with all these different ideas and when I told everyone it was going to be dolly bow bow they just looked at me like "what?" but it stuck, it felt right!

Q15 - Favourite Beauty products right now?

A15 - I am LOVING Garnier's new BB cream, I think it's a bit love/hate with some people, but I really like it so might do a blog post or video on it soon. I'm loving bright lips at the moment as well, I love Sleek's papaya punch, it's this gorgeous coral red, I also just got revlon kiss me coral and revlon stormy pink which is a gorgeous pink that I can't even describe! I love cover girl lash blast mascara and need to get my hands on some more cause mines ran out and we don't get it in the UK!

My Latest Treasure...

Thought I would show you this little beauty I found on my travels recently, this 1920's glass dressing table set may not be to everyones taste, but it fits perfectly with my vintage style.

I love anything like this, and for £9.50 I couldn't not get it!, I'm still deciding on a place for it and exactly what to put in the delicate, heart shaped trinket dishes, so if you have any ideas let me know! I was going to use the tray to display my perfumes but I didn't want to split up the set.

The little bowl at the front isn't originally from the set, and it once would have come with another candle-stick holder instead (i'm a geek and found a completed one on ebay!) but I kind of love it even more as someone has added the little bowl at some point over the years.

I've had quite a lot of requests to do home and decor related blog posts and videos, and as me and my boyfriend are currently looking for out first place together, I have been slowly growing a collection of pieces for our home, so hopefully I can do a few more posts like this.

Just a quick outfit of the day, thought i'd take them in the garden! the weathers not great but what the hell! I've been busy all day teaching, (some of you may not know that as well as dolly bow bow, I teach kids performing arts!) I love it, it's such an amazing and fun job, and the kids never fail to make me laugh!

Off out now for a little while with the boyfriend, so I thought i'd show you what i'm wearing, (this is of course minus the obligatory cardigan/coat/jumper us Brits are forced to take with us at all times!! I think were gonna pop down to our local festival that's being held this weekend and see what's going on down there! then i've got my buba cousins christening tomorrow, so may have to do an outfit post for that as well, depending on how my planned outfit turns out!

Just a quick outfit post this evening, this was taken about a month ago, but totally forgot about it. I'm loving bright, summery colours right now, and these floral shorts from H&M are so easy to wear with anything.

Went away with the bf last weekend down to the coast, it was so lovely to have a relaxing break for a few days, but now it's back to hard work! I'm updating the apparel section currently, there are some gorge new tops available now, and a few more which we be available within the next few days, and playsuits coming later in the week as well!

So the wait is finally over, as promised Dolly Bow Bow has begun to stock gorgeous, up to the minute, on trend fashion apparel. It's been a dream of mine for a long time to have my own business. So when I started Dolly Bow Bow I was overwhelmed with the response it got, and honestly, I only have you guys to thank for making my dream possible because your support has been amazing.

I have always had SUCH a "passion for fashion", So it has always been something I have wanted to incorporate into the Dolly Bow Bow brand. However, anyone that works in fashion retailing will know it's a lot harder than it looks, which is why it has taken us slightly longer than hoped to get the ball rolling. However, that ball has indeed been rolling for a good 6-8 months now. From choosing the perfect pieces, to waiting for them to be made, to photo-shoots to... well the list goes on.

We aim to add new pieces on a weekly basis over the coming months, to build up a beautiful catalogue of garments that we know you'll love.

Each piece is chosen because I know it will be (and is) something I would personally wear myself, I will never just sell random pieces to fill up the store!!

Keep an eye out for more beautiful summer and party dresses, as well as playsuits, shorts, skirts, blouses, t-shirts and bags, all coming soon. In the mean time your feedback is so important to me, so let me know what you think so far!

I've had my eye on this dress for a while now, I pick it up every time I go into Topshop, but for some reason don't get it, but yesterday, whilst I was out for a bit of lunch, it called me back and made me buy it! so what could I do?

I love the thin pleats and the colour, a think a nice mustard yellow piece is always a must for any wardrobe!

Had a busy week, lots of work, and my lovely Nana was in hospital having an op, but luckily she wasn't in for long and is now at home recovering!

Hi guys! I feel so bad that it's been so long since my last blog post, I've tweeted a few times in the last couple of weeks but haven't done any posts or videos. If you follow me on twitter, then you might know that the last 2 weeks have been pretty rough for me, I won't go into details because it's a private thing, which I know is probably a really annoying thing to say cause you must be thinking why bother saying anything then! (I know I sometimes think that when people post cryptic messages about themselves! attention seeker alert!) But I didn't want you all to think I just wasn't bothering!

But ANYWAY! Things are getting back to normal for me now, which means lots of work to do.

I'm a little bit obsessed with wearing my Levi shorts, I have about 3 pairs because I never seem to get the right size, but I think most of them fit quite awkwardly anyway, maybe because their so thick? I love them though, I think it's so easy to wear them at this time of year with a pair of thick tights and any top you want tucked in, whether you want to go for a casual black and white tee, or something a little bit more stylish, like the gorgeous blouse from New Look. The colour is so on trend right now, and I predict this sort of shirt will continue to become more and more popular over the coming season.

For those asking, I get My levi shorts from Urban Outfitters, they have a vintage section which I love to rummage through when i'm in there, but you will pay over the odds, because Vintage + Urban Outfitters = ££££

You never know hat you might find in a charity/thrift shop though, an old pair of levi jeans in your size could be easily cut down to create the same look at a fraction of the price. I know i'm keeping my eye out for some!

Today I went to see my Great-Nan, it was her 89th birthday today! bless her, Shes sooo lovely, she lives quite far from me, so I don't get to see her as much as I'd like, but is was lovely to spend some time we her today, and we had a good old catch up! i'm lucky to live near my grand parents though, and talking to them both today with my great nan makes me realise how important family is. So I definitely need to take more time out to be with them!

The rest of the day (when I got home) was spent filming! Sunday's is pretty much the only day I get to film, so I try and get a few done in one go so I can at least get a couple up each week, although i'd like to upload videos more often.

Lots of work today, busy, busy, busy getting out orders and working on the new collection, I can't believe that Dolly Bow Bow will be one year old in March, the time has flown by!

This evening I went for a bit of a shop, we only had about 2 hours until it closed but I wanted to take the Nikon back and exchange it for a canon as I was having a few probs with it. Needless to say they wouldn't take it back as it's not "faulty" and were actually quite rude, I hate patronising shop staff. But I think I just have to be patient and learn how to use it like a pro!

This has to be one of the most gorgeous gift sets Lush has to offer. So I was very excited when I unwrapped it this Christmas morning! if you saw my What I Got For Christmas video, you would know I was really lucky and got quite a lot of Lush goodies, But I thought i'd do a post on this humungous hat box, as unlike the other Lush items I received, this one is available all year round!

If your a girlie girl like me, then you'll probably find this box of pretty pinkness irresistible!

I have tried quite a few of the products in the set before, including: melting marshmallow moments, think pink, rock star, twilight, creamy candy and the comforter (wow nearly all of em' actually!) And I can't lie, I love them all!

Twilight and the comforter are two of my all time favourites and I would highly recommend them to the the girl who likes a sweet, sugary scent. Actually, if that sounds like your type of smell, you can't go wrong with the whole lot really!

So I realise that for an outfit of the day post this totally sucks! but i'm having a few 'focusing' issues with the Nikon, and I generally just need to learn how to use it properly.

Today's been a busy work day so, haven't done anything too exciting today. I tweeted about my failed attempt at a 'following me around' vlog yesterday, I thought it would be fun to take you guys on a little Primark shopping trip with me, but it was a big fat old fail! why?...

1. because the battery ran out

2. because I a chicken and got a bit embarrassed talking to a camera while tons of people stared at me like a weirdo

3. because I didn't even end up getting very much!

I know can you believe that?!?! so I might not do a Primark haul this time, maybe a blog post though?

I guess it's to be expected though as theres not a lot of new stock coming out yet, hopefully by about February though they'll be plenty of new fashion on the high-street!

So I managed to sneak in a bit of Boxing Day shopping before it was back to work I go! My local shopping centre was packed out, which was to be expected. I popped into Boots and picked up a few hair care Christmas gift sets, which were half price, (as are all the Boots Xmas gift sets at the moment), but i'll speak about that in a video soon!

I also got this gorgeous dress in Topshop, i've been looking for a nice Peter Pan collar dress for a while now, but when I saw this one I just knew I had to get it.

Apart from Boots, I didn't see that many decent bargains to be had, (Lush was a real disappointment), but maybe I just wasn't in a bargain hunting mood, I was kind of on a mission to make a long awaited purchase.....

I got a NIKON!!!

I've been wanting a DSLR for, well forever. I don't know why I felt the need to wait until boxing day to get it, I was hoping they would go down a bit in price for boxing day, but no, of course they didn't. I got the Nikon D3100 so hopefully the quality of the above photos shows? let me know.

Primark S/S 11

So i've seen a few blog posts about this already, but if you watch my videos on You Tube, you'll know I have a slight obsession with Primark! So was really excited to see the PR Shots of some of the pieces we can look forward to come this Spring. Heres a few of my favourite images:

I am im love with certain pieces, such as the holiday scene dress, with the socks and nude heels, It looks as though Primark will go all out with their summer dresses again this year, I also love absolutely everything about the final outfit! the nude/brown dress is gorgeous, and I really hope it lives up to expectations, the bag also look beautiful, and a lot more exspensive than it's £7 price tag.

As always, these pieces won't make it into every store, as I learnt last year when I looked everywhere for a certain dress in their S/S10 collection and could never find it. I'm starting to think it never existed!

However, judging from this collection, of what I'm sure will contain many more beautiful pieces, I think Primark have done a fabulous job of making relatively cheap clothing, look more like higher end high Street.

Who knows, some of these pieces could be popping up in a Primark haul some time in the New Year!

Friday Feeling - Cold!

Snow. I don't know what it is about it but it turns you into an 8 year old again!, it's so beautiful and instantly makes you feel so festive and Christmasy! We don't often get snow here in the months before Christmas, usually the odd week in January but the year the cold snap started early!

Yes, it's beautiful but the disruption it's causing! i'm finding it almost impossible to get my orders out, and no deliveries are coming in, so pretty much the worst situation we could be in, what with the christmas rush!

I have faith though, that it will all work out ok, and you will all have lovely, pretty, pink parcels to open come xmas morning!

Dolly Bow Bow does Brighton!

Hi Dolly's!

As you may or may not know, Dolly Bow Bow was at the Brighton Vintage Fair this Sunday, We had such a lovely day, It was so nice to meet some of you guys and put faces to the names! The fair was full of gorgeous vintage stalls selling all sorts of items, from fur coats and 80's jumpers to vintage sewing patterns, shoes and bags!

If you get a chance, google "Vintage Fairs" in your area, as they are such a fun day out, it really has inspired me to do more.

So I thought I would share some pictures with you guys that couldn't make it, of the stall before the shoppers arrived!

Naughty or Nice?...

Every year, around this time, the shops seem to temp us with a nice, new, little (or rather big) selection of perfumes just released in time to fill our christmas stockings! and each year, the perfumes on my list seem to go from liking one or two to liking 10! But as I was flicking through a magazine last week, I saw an advert for Vivienne Westwood's new perfume Naughty Alice. Now I don't know about you, but every now and again I see a perfume and know i'll like it before i've even smelt it, (is that crazy?) but this definitely happened to be one of those perfumes.

I love the simplistic but pretty bottle and packaging, and the hint towards one of my favourite ever books/movies (note the looking glass/mirror on the packaging and the colour, and of course the name!) but with a more grown up, feminine twist.

Heres the blurb about it:

Needless to say I immediately went out to try it and my prediction wasn't wrong. it's a soft, pretty, musky fragrance and it dries to a sweet smelling scent which I really like, however it's not weak one! it lasts all day long (I did spray it about 5 times though! oops.). This is definitely on the top of my christmas list this year!
